My composition approach involved positioning the subject in the right third of the frame. I also noticed the solid horizontal line that separates the wall from the floor, which I positioned in the bottom third of the frame. I crouched to be on the same level as the subject.

At low tide, I found an empty pier on the River Thames and used the location to compose my shot. I took the shot with my legs slightly bent.

My composition approach involved positioning the horizon in the top third of the frame. The landscape orientation allowed my eyes to follow the pier towards the horizon. I also included the surrounding area for context, for example, including the shopping cart to the right.
